Welcome to the course Art in Estonia!
The course will take place in our cosy training centre in Tartu Old town. In addition to this, it includes 2 study visits to art exhibitions and studios of artists in Tartu.
A perfect opportunity to acquaint yourself with Estonian art and culture, accompanied my study visits, meeting with contemparary artists, visits to museums and artist studios!
Some of the main topics of the seminars and lectures include for example:
1. Art in Estonia/ Estonian Art (Short overview of Estonian history with some parallels to European history), Art in Estonia from the 15th century to the 19th century.
2. First Estonian origin artists, educated abroad. Art education in Estonia - drawing classes in Tartu University (1803), foundation and development of professional art education in Tartu and Tallinn (20th century).
3. I half of the 20th century in Estonian art. Painting and printmaking.
4. Contemporary Estonian art 1950s – 2012, part I. Selected artists from different fields (painting, graphic arts, photography).
5. Contemporary Estonian art 1950s – 2012, part II. Selected artists from different fields (painting, sculpture, graphic arts, installation). Estonian artists in important international manifestations. Regular international art festivals in Estonia.
6. Art in Tartu. Contemporary artists who work in Tartu.
7. Video art in Estonia (Ene-Liis Semper, Jaan Toomik).
8. Estonian animation – international success (Rao Heidmets, Priit Pärn).
9. Estonian animation II (Kaspar Jancis, Riho Unt ja Hardi Volmer).
NB! Good news!!! Credit points given! Tartu Art College (Tartu Kõrgem Kunstikool) acknowledges our course so as totransfer their students 3 credit (EAP) points for the whole course (including the trip to Tallinn)! ( 2 credit points EAP) for the Tartu bloc).

Welcome to a mini-module of art and creativity: drawing, painting and inspirational creative workshops in the old town of Tartu, in the immediate vicinity of the town-hall square and the beautiful Dome Hill!
The around 2,5 hrs workshop will allow you to discover your creativity, explore your hidden resources and start to get to know your skills and talents in arts you may have forgotten about or even not be aware of:)
This module is suitable for individual participants, groups and families, and also perfec for team-building activities at different companies.
Personal approach, and individualised programme. We always use professional, recognised, "real" artists:) as our instructors. Welcome to explore yourself and the world of art and creativity at Babelhouse!

Welcome to the course Art and Creativity! The course will take place in our cosy training centre in Tartu Old town. You will be able to explore your creativity and enjoy the process of making art while testing the different techniques of drawing, painting, sketching, learning about the proportions of the human body, colour psychology, creativity and authorship in different areas of life, etc. In the special summer module of Art and Creativity painting and drawing in the nature and in town will be included to make our artists-at-heart capture the beauty and romance of the parks and old town of Tartu!
